I said I wasn’t going to post about her. But THIS is infuriating.

She’s not wrong that these programs are “on the periphery” and are “fluffery” (not a word, but whatever). She may be wrong that they should be cut. But not wrong that they’re not “constitutionally mandated.”

The next 20 months are going to be a constant assault on any organization that brings truth to light. NPR makes sure its listeners are better educated on the world around them than almost any other US broadcaster; for that they will be crucified by those entities who rely on and trade in lies. Wikileaks is already under attack for doing nothing more than telling and disseminating the internally understood truth to those who had been receiving only spin. Art breeds culture, and culture breeds reasoning. Art has always been pushed to the edges out of fear because artists are fearless and revel in making statements about the world.
When your entire platform depends on ignorance, ignorance MUST be maintained at all costs. Anything less, and the whole house of cards falls.

In case you didn’t know that I’m a total idiot, I present: NPR on FourLoko.
Background: A couple months ago, my best friends from college insisted that, if we could find some FourLoko in my neighborhood, we’d give it a try. I added the stipulation that whatever occurred as a result would have to be filmed and put up online; we had to hold ourselves accountable somehow.
Turns out, all FourLoko did to us was make us add a lot of curse words to NPR show titles. The dogs seemed to enjoy it, at least.
I am very, very sorry. To everyone.
NPR hosts offer some alternatives to greeting each other that follows the CDC recommendations to cut down on viral spread. Personally, I hope the snap ‘n’ flick catches on.
